Parking for Pollinators

Parking for Pollinators

A project for Willow Car park in Mevagissey. This project was carried out in conjunction with TEVI. The aim was to encourage pollinators into the area whilst enhancing the visual appeal of the car park.

We achieved this with the use of pollinator friendly planting and cleaver use of space including movable planters to use as alternatives to bollards or traffic cones. Recycled fish crates were also planted up showing a creative way to reuse and recycle old containers. Some areas of grass were replaced with polinator friendly shrubs, annuals and perennials as well as wild flower areas.

Local artist were commissioned to paint walls with pollinator themed pictures and to produce information boards to educate visitors about the importance of pollinating insects and how to encourage bees, butterflies and other pollinators in to their own gardens.
