The Brief
The clients asked us to update their very tired courtyard garden. We took inspiration from their eclectic style and developed a response that echoes features found in middle eastern gardens. Ornate tiles, It wasn’t feasible to use water so we introduced the idea of a metaphorical river, made from blue glass pebbles that tie in with the colour scheme. We moved the lower level back towards the rear boundary slightly to get a standing space for a bbq and log store and opportunity for little features like the inset alcove. Green walls would be used to take advantage of the shady areas and introduce more planting without taking up valuable floor space.
